Pokemon has been a part of my life, off and on, for about sixteen years. I think it’s time I started writing stuff about it. I make no promises as to how long this series will last.
I had a chip in my shoulder against Venusaur as a kid, because I was obsessed with the height of things being a measure of their power. It’s what years of dedication to late 80’s pro wrestling champions will do to you. In the original Pokedex, Venusaur was 6’7. Charizard, who I liked more, was 5’7.
No, but why, game? Why would you make lame Venusaur taller, since height is the only quantitative measure of how rad something is, taller than Charizard? I think the bigger question is why, me? Why do you have a chip in your shoulder against a fictional toad (or ‘saur) with a flower sprouting from its spine? Why are you so debilitatingly weird?
